Research Interests: Dysfunction of mitochondrial respiratory chain in patients with impaired neuromuscular function (children with psychomotor delay and neuromuscular dysfunction), neurodegenerative (Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson) and metabolic disorders (diabetes), and diseases with a strong maternal inheritance (asthma) by detecting mutations in mitochondrial genes (tRNAs, enzymes of respiratory chain) and controlling the biochemical function of the respiratory chain.

Create a bank of mitochondrial polymorphisms occurring in the normal population on the area of Thessaly.
