Certificate in Education

In accordance with article 456 of Law 4957/21.7.2022 the Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Adequacy will be awarded to graduates of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology until 31/08/2024, provided they fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Attendance and successful examination of the following six courses:
    1. Anthropology of Education and Modern Pedagogical Trends (Elective / 3 ECTS)
    2. Theory of Teaching and Didactics of Biosciences (Elective / 3 ECTS)
    3. Bioethics and Education (Elective / 3 ECTS)
    4. Introductory Informatics and Computational Management of large scale data (Compulsory / 5 ECTS)
    5. Biostatistics (Compulsory / 6 ECTS)
    6. Evolution (Compulsory / 5 ECTS)
  2. Attendance and successful examination of two of the following five courses:
    1. Evolution of Ideas in Biological Sciences (Elective / 3 ECTS)
    2. Synthetic Biology (Elective / 4 ECTS)
    3. Neuroscience & Behavior (Elective / 4 ECTS)
    4. Drugs in sport: Drugs, antidoping, international regulations, WADA research (Elective / 3 ECTS)
    5. Nutritional & Metabolic Biochemistry (Elective / 5 ECTS).

The total ECTS of the required courses for the “Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Adequacy” is between 31-34.

Dr. Vassilios Pantazis is in charge for the issues related to the Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Adequacy of the Department. He is also the instructor of the pedagogical lectures in all the courses that are required for the Certificate.
