Home E Syllabus and Course of Studies E Bioethics & Education

Theory: 2 hours/week | Tutorials: 2 hours/week | ECTS Units: 3

Content – Aim of the course

Startling developments of biotechnology, namely of technological exploitation of finds and discoveries of biology, submit new moral problems to man’s, generally, and to scientist’s, specifically, judgment. For the past few years, the applied ethical philosophy has attempted to provide some answers to these problems, or, at least, to research the items that raised these points. Recently, the legislator, too, has gradually started to intervene in the domain in which moral and practical problems pertain in the development of biotechnology.

The course “Bioethics and Education” aims to familiarize tomorrow’s bioscientists and teachers of Biosciences with Bioethics dilemmas. How they can be approached and analyzed systematically, as well as with the pedagogical interventions of bioethical and environmental activation in various educational contexts.
