Research Interests: My research focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of complex biological systems at the structural level. I am particularly interested in the structure–function relationships of enzymes of pharmaceutical and biotechnological importance, employing biochemical techniques, biophysical approaches, and structural biology methods, with a strong emphasis on X-ray crystallography. I further aim to leverage structural information derived from three-dimensional protein macromolecule characterization to understand the mechanisms of molecular recognition of substrates and inhibitors, and to apply structure-based drug design strategies for the development of novel therapeutic agents.
