
Vasiliki Stravokefalou
(Graduate 2013), Pre-doctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institute of Health in U.S.A.
Vasiliki Stravokefalou graduated from the Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology in 2013. She attended the postgraduate program “Molecular Medicine” of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration with the Institute of Biological Research of the Academy of Athens. She continued her studies in America, at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institute of Health, as a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly, where she continues her education to this day. Her dissertation focuses on the development of innovative applications for immunotherapy of breast and pancreatic cancer using cytokines, in particular the heterodimeric form of interleukin 15. Cancer immunotherapy is the most modern approach in the fight against cancer and the first drug was approved in 2011.
